Man, only some of the archives are in table format. I can try to convert the whole thing by hand, but it's gonna take a loooong time. Isn't there a magical algorithm to do the converting too? *crosses fingers* --Nonimportant 00:13, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
- we could alter the {{work}} template to make it be a single row in a table, then we'd just have to add the openning and closing things for the table (then too we could just alter it back if we decide we hate it later, or easily alter the layout of all the archives by just changing that template) --Modred (talk).
- I almost got this working, but there's a #ifeq equationg-type-looking-thing for the author part, and it has an error, I don't know how ifeqs work so I can't fix it until I either find out or someone else who understands 'em does it. but the rest of the table seemed to be working. --Modred (talk). 04:05, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
- I've got it working now. The image on this page in particular isn't working right with the new table format though, we'll have to find some different way of fitting that image in. Also several of the works used values like 1% for the percent completed part which doesn't seem to display right, I don't remember which page had that though. --Modred (talk). 04:17, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
- Also the headings for the non-english archives probably should be changed to reflect the language?
- Also the poems archive is split into a bunch of different sections, we could just customize that page's table to make it the type of poem as a column.
- it only just hit me I should've waited for more of a consensus beside myself before going and editing every page that transcluded the work template... Does anyone agree with the idea of doing that? --Modred (talk). 04:29, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
- Another bright, and unfortunately timed, idea of mine is to put the header information into a template itself, like template:WorkTableStart or something, that way editing it would change all the dependant pages, allowing us to easily change the archives' formatting by just editing those two templates. If we also make the closing tag into a template then we could make removing the tables easy as well, that way we could just empty the Start and End templates, then the tables would all be gone. Otherwise we'd have to go through and edit each page individually. --Modred (talk). 04:44, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
