Everybody who participates at Fiction Wikia is welcome to participate at the Internet Relay Chat (IRC) channel irc://irc.freenode.net/#wikia-fiction. That chat channel is for discussion of anything related to Fiction with special emphasis on collaborative writing projects. Topic[]
The topic for the channel is fiction. If you wish to talk about other topics, you might go to an off topic channel or discuss using personal messages with the person interested on it.
Disruption[]
If you feel that someone is disrupting #wikia-fiction then discuss the problem with others in the channel. Possible solutions include:
- take off-topic discussions to another channel
- use the /ignore command
- cool down and wait for the disrupting user to do the same. Usually, a disrupting user needs other people to interact.
bans[]
People who persistently disrupt the channel with spam, insults, or other off-topic messages can be banned. The person imposing a ban must explain the basis for the ban and be willing to discuss if the ban should be lifted.
Public logging[]
The channel does not do public logging. Quoting Freenode guidelines: "If you just want to publish a single conversation, be careful to get permission from each participant. Provide as much context as you can. Avoid the temptation to publish or distribute logs without permission in order to portray someone in a bad light. The reputation you save will most likely be your own."
