  1. I've created Template:NewFiction and used it as a preload for the 'start or submit new fiction' section in the sitenotice. That way, people who have just come to this site have an easy jump-in into the project. There'll be less confusion about how to create new stories, and I've also incorporated a variety of new-story tags, such as Category:Unrated, Category:Nolength, Category:Nogenre, and Category:Incomplete, which are useful if we hope to ever organize/streamline the files on Novelas. So... PLEASE USE THE NEW SYSTEM!!!
  2. I NEED FEEDBACK ON WHETHER OR NOT TO DO THIS: I'm going to start a transition away from Novels/Novellas/LongStories/ShortStories/VeryShortStories toward 'Chronicle', 'Serial', 'Tale', 'Anecdote', 'Plan', and 'Poem'. The differences will be:
    1. Chronicle: Defined by American Heritage Dictionary as "An extended account in prose or verse of historical events". That probably suits the really long stories on this site, ie. 120KB and above, ie. 4 full articles of 30KB each and above.
    2. Serial: stories longer than 30KB and hence split onto 2 pages. The idea is that 'one is not enough'. They are even more developed than tales.
    3. Tale: stories no longer than 30KB, but no shorter than 10KB. They've got substantial material for a reading.
    4. Anecdote: the really short stories that are shorter than 10KB, which are really empty of content and probably not worth a climax-expectant reading.
    5. Plan: some things--Like Never, Lorica, Wikiverse, and Starcraft Alternate--just never took off in the direction of a story. They're, in effect, still plans.
    6. Poem: all size poetry.
    7. Scripts will be removed, since they're very similar to Chronicle, Serial, Tale, Anecdote...

The point?Personally the current system works fine,so why change what works?User:Serprex 19:30, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Don't you get the feeling that the current system is more than a bit messed up? YZHSig   22:42, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

...No? --Nonimportant 22:55, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

All right then, in that case we'll just stick with the present framework. YZHSig   14:49, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
